TOWPATH RANGERS

It's way past time that the Canal and River Trust honoured their volunteers with a new name. Our proposed name is 'Towpath Rangers'. We believe that this would enhance public understanding of the group’s role, increase volunteer pride and engagement and strengthen the identity and visibility of the Trust's volunteer group - and lets be honest, if you were a volunteer, wouldn't you rather be called a Towpath Ranger?

The song we've written is to the tune of an old song Patrick used to sing in his army days, 30 odd years ago and repurposed into a song called The Towpath Rangers. If you'd like to know more about our proposal and if you like the song and know any volunteers, please let them know what we're trying to do, so we can put pressure on the Trust for a rebrand!
